Nice Try, Anies Baswedan Answers Formula E Pertanyaan Questions

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the phrase "nice try" or a good effort regarding the development of the Formula E electric car racing event which is scheduled for June 2022.

"Nice try," Anies said when asked by reporters about Formula E after meeting workers who expressed their aspirations for the 2022 UMP in front of the Jakarta City Hall, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 18.

Wearing a long-sleeved shirt with a turquoise batik motif and a gray mask, Anies didn't say much and only raised his thumb.

Accompanied by the Head of the Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Office of the DKI Jakarta Province, Andri Yansyah, the former Minister of Education and Culture then entered the Jakarta City Hall hall.

PT Jakarta Propertindo or Jakpro (Perseroda) as the local organizer stated that the certainty of the location for the electric car race or Formula E in Jakarta was announced around December 2021 after going through the process of determining the organizers of the "Formula E Operation" (FEO).

According to him, determining the location requires a process because the race track is located in the middle of the city.

"It's different, for example, in Mandalika, which already has an area and they just need to make a certification from the FIA, for us, the considerations in Jakarta are deliberately making the circuit, so the considerations are quite diverse," said Gunung.

Gunung added that there are five potential locations for electric car racing, one of which is in the Senayan area, Jakarta.

Although he has not yet determined the location, Gunung explained that the location of the race is one of the considerations for easy access to the community.

"Of the five we have not decided, we are still learning which one is the best," said Gunung.

Previously, the Formula E event was held simultaneously to support the Jakarta Langit Biru program carried out by the Regional Government in line with Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Program for Road Transportation.

Formula E is an opportunity for solutions to overcome air pollution in urban areas, especially the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also intensively promoting vehicle emission tests to reduce air pollution.
