A Number Of Pedestrian Lines In Yogyakarta Want To Build A Charging Station

JAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Government will continue to beautify public facilities on a number of pedestrian paths. One of them is by setting up a charging station for cellular phones.

Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti said this procurement is a collaboration between the government and companies in the form of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Later, the pedestrian path that will be equipped with this facility will be on Jalan Suroto and on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman from the Gramedia section to Tugu Yogyakarta.

And if the pedestrian revitalization of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman from the Galeria Mall to Gramedia intersection can be completed by the end of this year, it is very possible that a charging station facility will also be added.

Haryadi hopes that the addition of these facilities will increase the public's attraction to access pedestrians on Jalan Suroto and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

"So that it is more crowded and more people use the pedestrian. If by chance the cell phone battery runs out, then people can use the available charging station," said Haryadi, Wednesday, November 17, quoted from Antara.

As for pedestrians on Jalan Malioboro, it is possible that these facilities cannot be added because currently the condition is quite crowded with tourists.

“Security of tools and facilities must also be maintained. Do not let it have been installed at several points, but it is damaged or even lost," he said.

Haryadi said the existence of a charging station is also an effort to increase public access to information technology-based public services.

“The public can access public services from the Yogyakarta City Government online. Currently, almost everything can be accessed online," he said.

Meanwhile, the number of charging stations received by the Yogyakarta City Government from a smartphone manufacturer is six units, which can only be operated for indoor needs.

"Later, they will be placed in agencies that provide public services directly to the community. It can be at the Public Service Mall or in other strategic places," said Haryadi.
