Arrest Of Ustaz Farid Okbah To Ahmad Zain Based On Information From 28 Other Terrorists

JAKARTA - The National Police declared the arrests of Ustaz Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain An Najah, and Anung Al-Hamad, referring to the statements of dozens of terrorists who had previously been arrested. From this information, they are suspected of being involved in the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.

"(Referring to) the statements of 28 witnesses who are suspects (of terrorism) who have been arrested previously," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono to reporters, Wednesday, November 17.

In addition, the arrest of Ustaz Farid Okbah and two other suspected terrorists was also based on evidence in the form of documents related to Amil Zakat Baitul Mal Abdurrahman bin Auf (LAZ BM ABA). The document describes the issue of funding.

"The three people are involved in the financing activities of the JI terrorist group," said Rusdi.

Previously, Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested three suspected terrorists of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network in Bekasi, West Java. They include Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain An-Najah, and Anung Al-Hamat.

The suspected terrorist Ahmad Zain was arrested by Densus 88 Anti-terror on Tuesday, November 16th. The arrest took place at his residence in the Pondok Melati area, Bekasi, West Java.

Ahmad Zain's name is listed on the official MUI website, mui.or.id. Where, he is a member of the Central MUI Fatwa Commission.
