JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters confiscated Rp217 billion from the online loan network (pinjol) of the Jointly Owned Innovation Savings and Loans Cooperative (IMB). The money is stored in seven different accounts.

"Of the seven accounts suspected of being the source of the crime, Rp. 217 billion was successfully confiscated or blocked by investigators," said Director of the Special Crimes Unit of the National Police, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan, to reporters, November 16.

The money was allegedly the result of illegal borrowing. Because, according to the suspect's investigation, the accounts were used to provide and pay loans to customers.

"From the results of the investigators' research, it was found that there were allegations of accounts being a place to store and give money to customers," said Whisnu.

However, said Whisnu, his party is still developing this case. The reason is, it is strongly suspected that there are other things that are not yet known by investigators.

"Later we will explore again, the accounts used by the perpetrators. This is still a long story, there is more," said Whisnu.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police revealed an online loan syndicate (pinjol) network of the Jointly Owned Innovation Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) (IMB). In the network, three foreign nationals (WNA) are the masterminds behind the illegal loan.

The three foreigners, among others, are JMS who are citizens of the United States, GCY and WJS are citizens of Chinese origin. They worked together in establishing an illegal lending network.

Although the three of them are the masterminds of the crime, the suspect is WJS who controls the KSP IMB. Meanwhile, GCY assists in the field of information technology and JMS as director.
