BANDUNG - The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has detained a suspect with the initials AK, who is a state civil servant (ASN) at the West Java Regional Office of Religion related to allegations of corruption in school operational assistance funds (BOS) of more than Rp. 8 billion.

Assistant Special Criminal Prosecutor for West Java, Riyono said, AK is the Head of the Madrasah Working Group (KKM) for Madrasah Ibtidaiah (MI) to inflate the budget for doubling exam questions for MI students.

"Investigators concluded that AK's brother deserves to be held criminally responsible, so today he is also named a suspect," said Riyono at the West Java Attorney General's Office, Bandung City, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 16.

Riyono explained that the corruption crime occurred in the 2017-2018 fiscal year within the West Java Ministry of Religion. At that time, the central Ministry of Religion had disbursed BOS funds for each school.

The budget from the BOS funds is to finance the activities of doubling exam questions, such as the end of semester assessment (PAS), year-end assessment (PAT), try out (TO), national standard school exams (USBN), and national standard madrasah final exams. UAMBN).

"In practice, the funds should be managed by each school, but then it will be coordinated by the KKM chaired by the AK," he said.

Furthermore, the West Java-level KKM management chaired by AK directed the district and city-level KKM so that the project was carried out by one of the private parties.

"After that, the price was agreed upon, and the price was also marked up (budget inflated)," he said.

In addition, it is suspected that there was an agreement between KKM and the private sector to make cashback after the project for doubling the exam questions was completed. The private party who worked on the project had the initials CV MCA.

"You can imagine how much it is per student, then multiplied by thousands of students, and these numbers have been marked up," he said.

After the project is completed, he said, the KKM management will receive cashback from CV MCA with the mode of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

"So, at least in this case there is state money that is distributed free of charge, amounting to Rp. 8,039,596.420.00," said Riyono. Currently, his party is still conducting further investigations to calculate real state losses from alleged corruption the.

"The real loss is being calculated by the state by BPKP. However, the figure in the form of cashback is IDR 8 billion," said Riyono.

To AK, the Prosecutor's Office charged with Article 2, Article 3, Article 11 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31/1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
