Police Thwart Smuggling Of Stolen CBR Motorcycles At Gilimanuk Harbor, Bali

JEMBRANA - The Gilimanuk Police Team, Jembrana, Bali, thwarted the perpetrators of motorcycle theft (curanmor) who wanted to smuggle a stolen Honda CBR motorbike out of Bali.

Gilimanuk Police Chief Kompol I Gusti Putu Darmanatha said the perpetrator had the initials MR (27) from Lumajang, East Java. The arrest of the perpetrator started from information received by the South Denpasar Police regarding the theft case.

"For that, at that time I ordered all members in charge of conducting strict inspections at the Gilimanuk Port crossing," said Kompol Darmanatha, Tuesday, November 16.

From the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that the Honda CBR motorbike without the plate was obtained from the theft at the boarding house on Jalan Danau Tempe I, Telaga Sari Gang, Sanur Kauh Village, South Denpasar, Denpasar City.

"The perpetrator stole the motorbike using the original ignition key which he found about one month ago at the victim's office and it is true that the victim lost his motorbike ignition key about one month ago," added Kompol Darmanatha.

This Honda CBR motorbike will be brought to Lumajang according to the location of the address where the perpetrator lives who is deposited in the pickup. The stolen motorbike is planned to be sold again by the perpetrators.

"The perpetrator is subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 5 years. For the material loss suffered by the victim of Rp 12 million and while the people and evidence we have secured at the Gilimanuk Police. Furthermore, we will hand it over to the South Denpasar Police for further investigation," he said.
