1 Pertamina-owned Tank That Caught Fire In Cilacap, Central Java, Contained Pertalite

JAKARTA - Pertamina is currently making maximum efforts to extinguish the tank fire in the Cilacap Refinery area, Central Java.

Pertamina International Refinery Corporate Secretary Ifki Sukarya said the fire was estimated to have occurred at 19.20 WIB.

"It happened in a tank containing Pertalite products. Currently, Pertamina does not know the exact cause of the fire," Ifki explained in an electronic message, Saturday, November 13.

Extinguishing efforts were carried out intensively by using the High Capacity Foam Monitor on the burning tank.

Meanwhile, the surrounding tanks are cooled with water sprinklers to prevent the fire from spreading.

Pertamina is currently also checking the community around the incident area to ensure the community is in a safe condition,"

"For people who are located in the area closest to the location, an evacuation will be carried out to move the community to a safer area," said Ifki.

Currently, Pertamina also ensures that the supply of fuel and LPG to the community is safe and does not experience disruption.
