JAKARTA - The Pertamina RU VI Cilacap refinery, Central Java, reportedly caught fire on Saturday, November 13, at around 19:00 WIB.

Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina International Refinery Ifki Sukarya in an electronic message received by the media confirmed this incident.

"It is estimated that the incident occurred around 19.30 WIB and the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Pertamina, continued Ifki, is trying to extinguish the tank fire in the Cilacap refinery area.

"Currently, the Pertamina fire brigade team is trying its best to extinguish the fire in the tank area," he explained.

Parallel Pertamina is currently also checking the community around the incident area to ensure the community is in a safe condition.

"We will immediately update the progress of the ongoing blackout efforts," he explained.
