JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD proposes a budget of Rp. 40 million per month for all members of the Council for visits to electoral districts (dapil) in 2022.

A member of the DPRD from the PDIP faction, Gembong Warsono, explained that their goal in proposing a budget for this activity was to get closer to the community.

"This electoral district visit is once a month, for example mapping uninhabitable houses. Right, through electoral district visits, we coordinate with the service, how to solve the problem," said Gembong.

Gembong emphasized that the electoral district visit was different from the recess activity. In one year, recess members of the DPRD are held for 3 times. He considers that the aspirations of the residents cannot be fully accommodated only by conducting a recess.

"If the recess is to absorb aspirations, we listen more to what are the problems of the community. But if we visit, it can be reciprocal, in the sense that we bring local government programs that we can socialize in the community, then we absorb what becomes community problems," said Gembong.
For information, the proposed visit to the electoral district is included in the DPRD's Annual Work Plan (RKT) budget for the General Policy on Budget and Temporary Budget Priority Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) of the 2022 APBD.
