Aceh Police Detain Village Head Suspected Of Corruption Rp438 Million

BANDA ACEH - Investigators from the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police have detained the Head of Pulo Bunta Village, Aceh Besar District, for allegedly committing a criminal act of corruption in village funds.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police, Kombes Sony Sanjaya, said that the suspected perpetrator of a corruption crime who was arrested had the initials AM.

The detention of AM related to cases of alleged criminal acts of corruption and abuse of authority in financial management in Pulo Bunta Village for the 2015 to 2019 fiscal years.

"The person concerned has been detained in connection with the alleged criminal act of corruption in funds. The person concerned has been detained for the next 20 days since November 11," said Kombes Sony, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 12.

He said based on the results of the audit, the state losses incurred were estimated at more than IDR 438 million.

"The state loss in the corruption case is estimated at more than IDR 438 million. Investigators continue to work to resolve this alleged corruption case," said Kombes Sony.

Pulo Bunta Village is located on Bunta Island, opposite Sumatra Island, with a distance of less than an hour by sea by motorboat from Ulee Lheue Harbor, Banda Aceh City.

Administratively, Pulo Bunta Village is part of the Peukan Bada District, Aceh Besar District. The population of Bunta Island is not too many, less than a hundred people.

The presence of islanders near the island group of Aceh is more on the mainland of Sumatra Island. The majority of the population cultivate coconuts.
