Only Five Years Established, The Roof Of The State Junior High School In Gresik Jebol

GRESIK - The roof of a SMP Negeri 27 school building in Dapet Village, Balongpanggang District, Gresik Regency, East Java, has collapsed. Precisely in grade 8 C, and allegedly the roof supporting wood is fragile.

"At the time of the incident there was no teaching and learning process, the children had gone home from school," said Acting Principal of SMP 27 Gresik, Nuron when confirmed, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 12.

Nuron said the condition of the school is new, because the building is only five years old, and now the teaching and learning process is hampered because it must be transferred to the classroom behind it.

"The condition of the class is also not better. The roof also has a lot of holes," said Nuron.

He said there were 32 students in grade 8 C, and according to the rules of Face-to-face Learning (PTM) it was limited to only 50 percent, so only 16 students were allowed to join PTM.

"The learning process is still ongoing, our children are moved to another room," he said.

"To repair six classes, laboratory rooms, libraries, it takes around Rp. 1.3 billion. Repairs should have been carried out in June 2021, but there is still nothing," he said.

Meanwhile, a student, Saiful admitted that he was still lucky because at the time of the incident he and his friends had gone home from school.

"Hopefully it will be repaired soon, we are sad that schools like this continue. The buildings are worrying," said Saiful after receiving math lessons.
