JAKARTA - Since it was first opened until today, 620 volunteers have registered to take part in the vaccine clinical trial in Bandung.
"The number of registered volunteers is 620, the plan will be tested starting August 11, 2020," said the Head of the Clinical Research Team for the COVID-19 Sinovac Vaccine, Prof. Kusnandi Rusmil, quoted by Antara at PT Biofarma, Bandung, Tuesday, August 4.
However, so far no public officials have registered to volunteer for the vaccine test. However, according to him, officials also continue to support the implementation of the vaccine test.
"(If ASN) does not exist yet, most doctors from my friends in the region, must be from Bandung," he said.
According to him, before the registration for the vaccine test was opened, there were already many volunteer candidates who wanted to take the vaccine test.
He said, the initial stage of the vaccine test process will be carried out on August 11, 2020. Later the process will begin with a swab test for the volunteers.
"Those who register will have their health checked, there are many conditions. Maybe there are those who cannot participate," he said.
The clinical trial, he said, will involve around 20 specialists and 30 general practitioners. In one day, according to him, the vaccine test will only be followed by around 20-25 volunteers in each location.
Previously, the Chairperson of the West Java (West Java) COVID-19 Response Task Force and West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil said he and the West Java Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) were ready to become volunteers for the clinical trial of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Sinovac, China.
"We, the leaders, are formulating, if there are no obstacles from the personal health element, then Forkopimda and I will volunteer for vaccine testing (COVID-19)," said Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's recent greeting.
According to him, this leadership initiative in West Java will be a good example for the community and increase confidence that the vaccine test conducted by BUMN PT Bio Farma will run smoothly.
