Police Prepare New Pattern Of Nemangkawi Operation In Papua

JAKARTA - The National Police have developed a new pattern for the 2022 Nemangkawi Operation with the TNI in order to create a situation of security and public order (Kamtibmas) in Papua.

Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Public Relations Division of the Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, the new pattern of Operation Nemangkawi 2022 is possible after the results of the analysis and evaluation (anev) are carried out in December 2021.

"We'll see, anev has not yet been implemented, the operation process is still ongoing," Rusdi said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 11.

Rusdi explained that the Nemangkawi Operation was arranged in such a way, every six months an evaluation was carried out (January-June), then carried out and evaluated, followed by July-December.

The 2021 Nemangkawi operation will end this December, a week before the operation ends, anev will be carried out.

"This December the Nemangkawai Operation will end in 2021. But at the end of December an analysis and evaluation will be carried out by the National Police Headquarters and the Papuan Regional Police, the results of the anev will have conclusions and recommendations," said Rusdi.

He said the recommendations from the anev results would be input for the leadership of the National Police and the TNI to decide how to operate Nemangkawi for 2022.

"That's the process," said Rusdi.

Rusdi said Operation Nemangkawi was carried out by the National Police together with the TNI. Coordination continues, as well as every anev carried out with the TNI.

In addition, Rusdi supports the idea submitted by the candidate for the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Andika Perkasa, during the fit and proper test at Commission I of the DPR regarding resolving issues in Papua using military diplomacy and a humanist approach.

However, the implementation of Operation Nemangkawi 2022 will only be discussed after the anev is completed at the end of December 2021.

Rusdi added that the 2021 Nemangkawi Operation anev would be carried out a week before the operation ended.
