JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD asked the DKI Provincial Government to stop grant funds to the Betawi Community Consultative Body (Bamus Betawi) in the 2023 APBD.
In response to this, the Chairman of the Betawi Bamus Abraham Lunggana did not question the suspension of the grant funds.
"(The suspension of grant funds) is the government's policy. We support it," said Lulung when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, November 9.
Lulung said that grants to community organizations are actually regulated by law. Specifically for Bamus Betawi, this organization is also regulated in Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2015 concerning Preservation of Betawi Culture.
Lulung also predicts that after the suspension of grant funds, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will issue a governor regulation. However, Lulung did not explain the material of the governor's regulation.
"In my opinion, Bamus Betawi will not be given a grant because the Governor will make a governor's regulation based on Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2015," he explained.
For information, the DPRD's desire for Bamus Betawi to no longer be given grant funds in the form of money was conveyed in the report on the results of the work meeting of Commission A with the executive who discussed the deepening of the draft General Policy on Budget and Priorities for the Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) of the 2022 APBD.
"Starting from 2023, we will not give grants of money, but in the form of activities so that they are transparent and clear. That is our recommendation," said Chairman of Commission A of the DKI DPRD, Mujiyono, when confirmed, Tuesday, November 9.
Mujiyono said that this recommendation was given because the DKI National Unity and Political Agency (Bakesbangpol) proposed the uneven distribution of grant funds between the Betawi Bamus and the 1982 Betawi Tribe Bamus in 2022.
Initially, Bakesbangpol suggested that the Betawi Bamus be given a grant of Rp. 3 billion and the Bamus of the Betawi Tribe to be given Rp. 1.2 billion.
However, in a joint discussion, the DPRD asked the DKI Provincial Government to divide it in two so that the allocation of grant funds for Betawi community organizations was evenly distributed.
"Commission A reminds the relevant regional apparatus organizations that the distribution of grants for 2022 is given fairly, where each Betawi community organization gets a cash grant of IDR 2.1 billion each," explained Mujiyono.
He said that this grant from the 2022 APBD was the last time because it had been included in the budget proposal. "This is the last grant for Bamus," said Mujiyono.
