JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, congratulated General Andika Perkasa who had been approved by the DPR RI as TNI Commander.

"Congratulations on carrying out your duties as TNI commander," Jazilul said to VOI, Tuesday, November 9.

Regarding General Andika, who is said to have a chance in the 2024 presidential election, Gus Jazil, as he is called, invites the Army Chief of Staff to intend to run as a presidential candidate. Of course, if General Andika has completed his tenure in the TNI.

"Please run as a presidential candidate when you retire. That's a political right guaranteed by the constitution," said Gus Jazil.

However, the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR believes that General Andika must first focus on carrying out his duties as the new TNI Commander. Andika, he said, must first look at the achievements made during his tenure in that position.

"In my opinion, the focus is on proving being able to make achievements in the current position. It seems difficult to progress without real achievements," said Jazilul Fawaid.

Previously, Secretary General of the Justice and Unity Party (PKP) Said Salahudin assessed that the position of TNI Commander opened up opportunities for General Andika Perkasa to participate in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) market.

"Although I believe Mr. Andika will hold fast to the Sapta Marga and will never want to use his position for the sake of the presidential election, but if the people want him, what will they say? That is the right of the people that should not be restricted," Said said in his statement, Sunday, November 7th.

According to him, the DPR's approval of the nomination of General Andika Perkasa as TNI Commander is likely to influence the map of the 2024 presidential election. Although his name has not appeared in the survey results, Said predicts that in one year the situation will be different. He believes that General Andika's name could appear in the survey results as a potential presidential candidate.

"People have a simple way of thinking. They will look for a person who according to subjective reasoning has certain skills. Some people like figures with military backgrounds because there is no doubt about the spirit of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. so on," said Said.
