MAKASSAR - The South Sulawesi Provincial Government has promised financial assistance worth Rp. 200 billion for Makassar in 2022, as a stimulant effort so that the wheels of the economy continue to spin and create jobs for the community.
Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman emphasized that the South Sulawesi Provincial Government continues to be present to encourage economic development in Makassar City.
"This year, we have disbursed (Provincial Budget) around Rp. 100 billion, God willing, next year we will disburse twice as much as Rp. 200 billion for Makassar City, we have submitted it to the DPRD," he said while attending the Makassar City 414 event at the Losari Beach Pavilion. Between, Tuesday, November 9th.
"This is an effort to stimulate regencies/cities so that the wheels of the economy spin which will have an impact on opening up job opportunities for the community," he continued.
Andi Sudirman conveyed that several development plans will be carried out in Makassar City. One of them is an international standard hospital that will be built by the Ministry of Health.
"In South Sulawesi, the OJK (heart brain and cancer) international standard hospital will be built. We encourage (development) in Makassar to be present and this will be representative for the Eastern Indonesia region," he explained.
He also discussed the toll road in Pettarani, as well as encouraging the construction of the toll road to Makassar New Port (MNP).
The Acting Governor hopes that MNP, as a hub for ports in the eastern and central parts of Indonesia, will go directly to the existing toll roads, which will then be distributed to the north and south more quickly.
With the presence of the toll road to MNP, he said, it would accelerate the flow of goods to be sent through the port.
"If the flow of goods is fast and goes well, God willing, the economic turnaround will be fast, especially since Makassar New Port is a port with a depth of up to minus 20 meters, deeper than Surabaya," said Andi Sudirman.
"It's even wider than those in Surabaya and Tanjung Priok. The plan is around 1000 hectares," he continued.
Supporting this, he also coordinated with Consulate Generals from various countries such as the Australian Consul General in optimizing direct call ports.
"We continue to boost exports, Alhamdulillah also our exports continue to increase. We continue to push because the difference between that is to launch our products from within to abroad," said Andi Sudirman.
