Foreign Tourists Don't Come To Bali, Dispar Responds To The Demands Of The Tourism Industry To Remove Quarantine

DENPASAR - Acting Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, responded to the suggestion of tourism industry players who want Bali without quarantine for foreign tourists or foreign tourists such as Thailand.

The quarantine policy was emphasized by Pemayun, the authority of the central government. The policy is also based on parameters related to handling COVID-19.

"The central government has the authority to do that. (They) have the parameters why there should be quarantine. The shortest incubation period (COVID-19) is three to five days. The maximum is 14 days," Pemayun said in his office, Monday, 8 November.

The Bali Provincial Government, he continued, had tried to reduce the quarantine period from 8 days to 3 days.

"This is the minimum limit from eight days to five days. Now it's a minimum of three days, that's a maximum of once," he said.

However, according to Pemayun, the proposal without quarantine needs to be communicated with the central government.

"Of course, we will continue to communicate with the central government. If we want, if we can not (quarantine) for what, we have PCR, we have vaccinated twice. (But) because that is the central domain and that is the central, national COVID-19 Task Force it has parameters, I dare not answer that," he said.

Regarding the non-entry of foreign tourists to Bali, there are a number of factors including the absence of direct flights to Bali until quarantine.

"There is no direct flight yet. Including visas, it's still a business visa, why is there a business visa, there are still parameters that I mentioned earlier that the COVID-19 task force is still looking at. Because, on the one hand, the economy has to work, but here to protect the public in general, we don't know that there will be developments in new variants," said Pemayun.

It is admitted that until now there is no information on plans for foreign tourists to visit Bali. Therefore, the Pmprov continues to optimize the visit of domestic tourists.
