Residents' Houses In East Pejaten, South Jakarta Are Flooded

JAKARTA - The rain that has occurred since Sunday afternoon has caused a number of houses in Pejaten Timur Village, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, to be flooded.

The head of the Youth Organization of Pejaten Timur Village, Japs Virgiawan, in Jakarta, Sunday night, said the flood had occurred since 18.00 western Indonesia time, with water levels of 100 centimeters to two meters.

He said that in RT 05/RW 05 the water level reached 100 centimeters.

"A total of 15 houses were affected with a total of 20 families. Currently, they are evacuating on the second floor of their house," said Virgiawan, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 7 night.

Meanwhile, as many as 20 houses located in RT 011/RW 06 the water level reached 150 centimeters.

"Approximately the number of families is 25 families. They took refuge on the second floor of their house," he said.

Meanwhile, residential areas in RT 013/RW 06 have a water level of two meters.

"A total of 7 houses were affected, with a total of 10 families. They fled to other residents' houses that were safe from flooding," said Virgiawan.

Meanwhile, the rain that flushed the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings caused several roads to be submerged in water, such as at the hek junction, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

"The river overflowed, so the water was about 30 centimeters inundated," said one road user, Yunus.
