Social Minister Risma Calls Gresik Regent Regarding Flood Handling: If It's A Project, How Long Will It Take? Pity Your Citizens

GRESIK - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini encouraged the handling of flash floods that hit a number of sub-districts in Gresik Regency by telephone with Gresik Regent Fandi Akhmad Yani.

Risma contacted Regent Fandi during his activities to help victims of flash floods in Cermen Village, Kedamean District, Gresik Regency, East Java, Sunday, November 7.

"Because if it's a project, how long will it take? Poor your citizens, I'll teach you later," Risma said as quoted by Antara.

Risma told Fandi that when she first became the mayor of Surabaya, she only had two units of water control equipment to deal with floods. But now, the equipment has become 190 units.

Risma plans that next week, she will return to visit the location affected by the flash flood.

"Next week I'll be here, I'll talk to your head of service," she said.

Previously, heavy rains caused the Lamong River to overflow and flood dozens of villages in Gresik Regency on Friday, November 5.

According to the Gresik Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency, the floods that hit the Benjeng, Balongpanggang, Kedamean sub-districts and caused more than 600 houses to be inundated.
