2 Air Force Personnel Will Be Dealt With Firmly If Proven To Help Rachel Vennya Escape Quarantine

JAKARTA - The Air Force Military Police (POM AU) investigated two members of the Air Force (AU) suspected of being involved in the escape of Rachel Vennya from Wisma Atlet. The results of the examination will determine the sanctions that will be given.

"Both of them are undergoing an examination by the Air Force Military Police," said Head of the Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau) Marsma TNI Indan Gilang Buldansyah in his statement, Friday, November 5.

The two elements of the Indonesian Air Force, namely, FG and IS. Both are said to be on duty at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Wisma Atlet Pademangan.

If later in the examination the two TNI personnel are proven to have committed violations, strict sanctions will be immediately given. The reason is that their actions have tarnished the name of the institution.

"According to applicable legal provisions, if a soldier is suspected of committing an act of violation, then the person concerned will undergo a legal process," said Indan.

"If found guilty, strict action will be taken in accordance with applicable law," he continued.

Regarding the role of the two TNI personnel in helping Rachel Vennya escape from Wisma Atlet, Indan could not provide details. The reason is that the investigation is still in progress.

Previously, the Head of Pendam Jaya Colonel Arh Herwin BS said that FG and IS helped Rachel Vennya escape from Wisma Atlet. The role of the two is known based on the results of the interim examination.

"So if he admits he is helping RV not to stay in quarantine," said Herwin.

However, Herwin emphasized that so far there has been no indication of bribery in the series of actions that have taken Rachel Vennya to escape. However, all assumptions will be investigated to resolve the issue.

"While this confession there is no attempt to bribe," said Herwin.
