Police Investigate Shooting Case That Killed 3 People In Bolsel, North Sulawesi

MANADO - The North Sulawesi Police (North Sulawesi) and the South Bolaang Mongondow Police (Bolsel) are investigating a suspected shooting case in Saibuah Village, Posigadan District, Bolsel Regency, which left three people dead.

Head of Public Relations Kombes Jules Abraham Abast said the shooting occurred today, Thursday, at around 10.30 WITA.

"At that time, three men were found dead, presumably from gunshot wounds," said Abast, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 4.

The identities of the three are the suspect with the initials A (28 years old) a resident of Ranotana Manado, then the two victims are Yunus Rompis (60 years old) a resident of Saibuah RT 10, and Maikel Wongkar (47 years) a resident of Ranotana, Manado.

He said the police had received initial information from two witnesses, residents of Saibuah.

"Based on the testimony of witnesses, the incident began with consuming alcoholic liquor (alcohol) with the type of rat stamp together at the house of a resident not far from the crime scene. Then the victim Yunus Rompis and suspect A got into an argument that led to a fight," he said.

Suspect A went to the car and took a long-barreled gun from Maikel Wongkar's car.

Seeing this, Yunus Rompis immediately ran to ask for protection from Maikel Wongkar, who was the boss of suspect A.

"That's when suspect A shot victim Yunus Rompis, causing the victim to die," he said.

He said that after A shot Yunus Rompis, Maikel Wongkar tried to take the weapon from A's hands, triggering an argument.

“Suspect A then shot Maikel Wongkar, which also resulted in Maikel Wongkar's death. After the incident, it is suspected that suspect A committed suicide by shooting himself in the head," he said.

Abast added that the owner of the weapon, on behalf of Maikel Wongkar, was a member of the North Sulawesi Industry Association. With the type of hunting weapon with a 7.62 mm caliber brand G. Steyer.

"The three bodies are planned to be taken to the Bhayangkara Manado Hospital for a post-mortem and autopsy. At this time we are still conducting an in-depth investigation regarding the number of injuries suffered and what type of injuries, and it is possible that forensic tests will be carried out regarding the weapon," he said.
