Next Year, Social Minister Risma Ensures State Pay Attention To Orphans, Receives IDR 200-300 Thousand Every Month

KALBAR - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini or Risma said that his party would allocate aid funds for orphans as a form of government presence in the community.

This assistance will be distributed after the Ministry of Social Affairs receives data from the Regional Government (Pemda) so that it is right on target.

"We ask the local government to collect data on orphans in the area and submit the data to us. We will allocate aid for orphans," said Risma when providing assistance to orphans affected by COVID-19 in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, as reported by Between, Thursday, November 4th.

Risma added that the allocation of assistance in the form of cash is Rp. 200-300 thousand per child, depending on whether the child is in school or not. Assistance is provided every month.

"We will do this next year, so that today it is only for those whose parents died of COVID-19 first," he said.

Next year, said Risma, the assistance for orphans whose parents died due to COVID-19 will be the same as for ordinary orphans.

For today, Social Minister Risma provided cash assistance to 27 orphans, with a total of IDR 6.1 million. Where every child who has gone to school will get Rp. 200 thousand, and those who have not attended school get Rp. 300 thousand each month.

He also ensured that the government would not stop social assistance (bansos) for the poor affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs has budgeted IDR 74.08 trillion for social assistance expenditures for 2022. The assistance programs from the Ministry of Social Affairs that will continue are regular social assistance and special social assistance," said Risma.
