JAKARTA - The search for the boy with the initials ABP (9), the victim who was lost in the flow of the Robusta connecting channel, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta is still ongoing. On the third day of the search for victims, the joint SAR team maximized the search by deploying joint SAR personnel at the East Flood Canal (BKT).

Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC), Hendra Sudirman said today's SAR operation was carried out by dividing the search area into two.

In the first SRU, said Hendra, the search used a rubber boat as far as 10 kilometers from the scene to Muara in the Marunda area, North Jakarta.

Then the second SRU conducted a visual sweep of the riverbank as far as 6 kilometers from the incident location.

"The search so far, we have not found the victim. We plan to continue tomorrow morning, but we will continue to monitor the information in the field," Hendra told VOI, Wednesday, November 3, evening.

Today's operation involved dozens of joint SAR personnel, consisting of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, Duren Sawit Police, East Jakarta Damkar, DKI Jakarta BPBD, Duren Sawit Koramil and Duren Sawit Satpol PP.

In addition, other elements involved in the search were Ukhuwal Al Fatah Rescue, ESLAN, Human Initiative, Hirpala, Funo Kawan, KORGAD, Senkom, SCRC, Repotin, Shabawana, Imani Care, IEA, SAR MTA, Brigade, DMI, Response Team, KCR, Zakat House, IRRES, PBI Squad, the community, and the families of the victims.

It was previously reported that a boy with the initials ABP (9) resident of Pondok Kopi Village, Duren Sawit Sub-district, disappeared after being swept away by the flow of the Connecting River (PHB) on Jalan Robusta, Pondok Kopi, East Jakarta.

The victim fell in the PHB river because he slipped while on the edge of the channel when it was raining. The head of Platoon Company C for the Duren Sawit Fire Fighting Sector, Basith Hanafi, said the boy was swept away in the connecting channel which empties into the East Flood Canal (KBT) near SDN 08 Pondok Kopi. .

"According to his parents, the victim was washed away while playing in the rain with his friends at around 14:00 WIB," said Basith at the location of the search for the East Flood Canal, Monday, November 1.

When the victim was swept away, three friends who played with him tried to help by reaching for the victim's hand. Unfortunately the attempt failed because of the strong current.

The victim was swept away in a channel with a width of about 50 centimeters and a depth of about 40 centimeters whose flow was directed to the connecting channel and then the East Flood Canal (KBT). We immediately went to the location to search," he said.
