Argo said that if the fines were applied immediately without prior socialization, it was feared that there would still be many vehicles that had not yet had the opportunity to undergo emission tests.

"So, don't let the 10 (vehicles) that have been stopped 9 have no test cards yet. The point is that the ticketing action is a continuation of the socialization stage, the warning stage to the ticketing action," he said as quoted by Antara.

He said that currently there are more than nine million motorized vehicles passing on the streets of the capital city and the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya is still waiting for data from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency regarding the percentage of vehicles that have undergone emission tests.

If, according to Dishub data, the number of vehicles that have carried out emission tests reaches 50 percent, the police will start imposing a ticket as an action.

"Has the Transportation Agency checked how much. The information is only hundreds of thousands. Is it 10 percent and 20 percent? Later, when it's 50 percent or more, we will increase the ticket," he said.

Previously, the policy of ticketing for vehicles that did not pass the emission test was stated in the Governor's Regulation (Pergub) No. 66 of 2020 to create a blue sky for Jakarta.

Vehicles that are later found not to meet the requirements for the normal emission limit, they will receive a fine of Rp. 250 thousand for two wheels and Rp. 500 for four wheels.
