SAMARINDA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin appealed to public servants in all government institutions, both at the central and regional levels, to behave in an anti-corruption manner and be open to criticism from the public.

"Public servants must be open to criticism and public aspirations, in addition to continuing to behave anti-corruption," said Vice President Ma'ruf while chairing a meeting on Community Economic Empowerment and Public Services at the Odah Etam Hall, East Kalimantan Governor's office, Samarinda, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 2nd.

The Vice President explained that the integrity that must be applied by public servants is in line with the demands of the community to get fast, transparent and cheap services.

"The dynamics of society demands faster and easier public services. The implementation of public services in the future must be simpler and more competitive, along with the increasingly massive use of technology," said Ma'ruf Amin.

In addition, he continued, technological developments must also be utilized properly by public servants, so that services to the community are more effective, efficient and responsive.

The vice president also said the quality of public services is one of the benchmarks related to the success of bureaucratic reform which is part of the vision and mission of the government of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

"The quality of public services is one end of the success of bureaucratic reform and is a manifestation of community satisfaction. The realization of a better quality of public services will have an impact on improving people's welfare," continued Ma'ruf Amin.

Therefore, the Vice President as Chair of the National Bureaucratic Reform Steering Committee (KPBRN), asked all levels of the provincial government, district governments and city governments to implement various innovations in providing services to the community.

The community is an important key in encouraging the improvement of the quality of public services because they are able to provide feedback and input for improvement.

"Good public services are created through synergistic cohesion between the Government and the community. The role of the community is important in encouraging the quality of public services, because through its control function and aspirations it provides input to motivate continuous improvement and innovation," said the Vice President.
