PONTIANAK - A total of three residents assisted by the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, were found to be in a state of nausea and vomiting because they had consumed an adulterated drink.

"It is true that this morning, we received reports that three prison residents were poisoned because they had consumed a Sprite drink mixed with ethanol, so the three were immediately taken to the prison clinic and were rescued," said Head of Class IIA Pontianak Prison Farhan Hidayat, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 2nd.

The three inmates had the initials La, Ss and As. Earlier on Monday, November 1, at around 22.30 WIB, it was also found that one of the prison residents with the initials Sr alias At experienced shortness of breath and was immediately taken to Dr Soedarso Hospital Pontianak.

"Sr alias At, while being treated at Soedarso Hospital on Tuesday (2/11) at around 01.00 WIB, was declared by the hospital doctor to have died from a heart attack. heart attack," he said.

From the results of intensive care carried out by the prison clinic, the three inmates who were poisoned are now starting to improve.

"The condition of the three is currently improving and has recovered," he said.

He also regretted, due to the carelessness of the three prison residents. The ethanol obtained by the three is ethanol prepared for prison residents who have skin diseases such as ringworm and so on.

"We prepare this ethanol when there is a plastic waste management activity. When we do the management, because plastic waste contains bacteria, some prison residents have ringworm. Now, using ethanol to treat ringworm of the inmates," said Farhan .
