André 3000's Confession About The Difficulty Of Focusing On Making Music

JAKARTA - André 3000 recently shared his struggles in making music. The OutKast member admitted that he had difficulty focusing and had lost confidence in making solo projects.

This doesn't mean Andre is lazy. Due to the fact, the singer whose real name is André Lauren Benjamin has collaborated quite often with other musicians. Among them with singer James Blake in the song Where's The Catch? and Anderson .Paak for Come Home this year. Despite this, André had no intention of making new music for himself.

In an episode on the Broken Record Podcast with Rick Rubin, André admitted that he didn't make much music. "My focus is not there, my confidence is not there," he said. André also explained that lately he has been thinking too much about making music seriously.

André admitted that he thought of his music with critical and hyperbolic analysis. This is one of the factors why he is less focused on making music than filling in collaborations. He sometimes feels attacked, for good or for bad. As a result, he doesn't have the confidence or the experiments he used to do.

“I can go to the piano and just sit with my iPhone and record what I'm doing. Move my finger and whatever it is, "he said.

André is also still asking about how he is doing this. No motivation could touch him to form a serious project.

“I'm just trying to find out what makes me feel the best right now. What makes me best when I do random things with the instrument. They made me feel the most rebellious, ”he continued, as quoted by NME.

In the middle of this year, a Los Angeles artist, Thurz had claimed a collaboration between André 3000 and Dr. Dre. However, until the end of the year, these rumors were not proven.

André 3000 last released a song on Soundcloud called Me & My (To Bury Your Parents) and a 17-minute mini album titled Look Ma No Hands last year.
