JAKARTA - Long career, Lady Antebellum announced the change of band name to Lady A on Friday, June 12 Indonesian time. This statement was conveyed through the band's social media at the same time that their username changed to @ladya.

Formed in 2006, this country band only realized the word Antebellum referred to slavery. “When we joined 14 years ago, we named our band because of the 'antebellum' southern residential style when we took the first photos. As musicians, it reminds us of the birth of music in the south that inspired us… southern rock, blues, R&B, gospel and of course country. ”

Then they regretted that the word association chosen was connected to the historical period before the civil war, one of which was slavery. "We apologize for the hurt that was felt and for all those who felt insecure, invisible, and invaluable," continued the band of Dave Haywood, Hillary Scott, and Charles Kelley.

Because of this, they discussed and chose to make a change starting from changing their band name. The situation experienced by citizens of the United States recently became an afterthought for them. "A hidden place that we didn't know existed is now here."
