Corey Taylor Slipknot Finished Recording For A Solo Album

JAKARTA - Slipknot's vocalist, Corey Taylor, announced that he has finished recording for his first solo album. This news was announced by Taylor when he guested on Lzzy Hale's We Are Hear on YouTube on Friday, May 22.

This solo album plan was announced last year when Corey Taylor explained that he was forming a band project to work on his debut album.

"I secretly recorded my first solo album. I did solo with my band for the last few years and the people I work with forever," explains Taylor.

These include Jason Christopher, Dustin Schoenhofer of the Walls of Jericho, Zach Throne, and Christian Martucci of Stone Sour. Within two weeks, Taylor and his band had finished recording 25 songs live.

About the genre, Corey Taylor doesn't want to focus too much on the rock that raised him. The first album will sound expansive with the exploration of genres besides rock. This musician who was born on December 8, confirmed that several songs will make listeners want to sing-along.

The song on the album was reportedly made about two years ago. Some songs were deemed unsuitable for Slipknot. That's why he chose this song to sing solo. Despite telling a lot about the album, Corey Taylor was reluctant to divulge the release date of the album.

However, he enjoyed every part of his solo album recording session in the midst of this situation.

On the other hand, Slipknot postponed all tour events from the promotion of the album We Are Not Your Kind due to the COVID-19 pandemic and also canceled several scheduled appearances. Through their Instagram, Slipknot announced they would appear at the Machaca Festival in 2021.
