BLACKPINK's Jennie Appointed as Headliner of a Prestigious Music Festival in Poland

JAKARTA - The South Korean music industry through K-pop continues to prove its influence on the global music stage. Through one of its biggest icons today, Jennie BLACKPINK, K-pop music gets a headliner slot for the largest cross-genre music festival in Poland, Open'er Festival 2026.

The news came as a sweet surprise for fans in Europe, given that the prestigious annual festival always presents a line-up of top musicians.

The Open’er Festival this year is scheduled to take place in Gdynia, Poland, from July 1 to 4.

Jennie is confirmed to dominate the Orange Main Stage at the festival's closing. Her presence is juxtaposed with other big names who have been confirmed, such as Robert Smith (The Cure), Calvin Harris, Zara Larsson, Addison Rae, Teddy Swims, PinkPantheress, to David Byrne.

In addition to Jennie, the organizers also announced another new performer, Viagra Boys, who will perform on July 1 and Luvcat on July 4 at the Alter Stage.

The selection of Jennie is not without reason. The organizers saw that the influence of the BLACKPINK member was considered able to go beyond the limits of music.

"Jennie Kim is one of the most influential female artists of this era. Since debuting with BLACKPINK in 2016, this Korean singer, rapper*l, and fashion icon has amassed more than 55 million monthly listeners on Spotify and almost 90 million followers on Instagram," said the organizers, quoted by NME, Thursday, May 7.

"He continues to shape global trends and remains a dominant figure in popular culture. Want to act like Jennie? You got it. See you at the Orange Main Stage, July 4," he continued.

This agenda adds to Jennie's increasingly busy solo schedule throughout 2026. Before flying to Poland, she is also scheduled to perform at The Governor's Ball in June, as well as Mad Cool Festival and Lollapalooza, which will also be held in July.

This success is inseparable from the release of his first solo album, "Ruby", last year, which received widespread appreciation from international music critics.

This momentum also feels more perfect for fans. The reason is that in January, BLACKPINK also announced their latest mini album titled "Deadline".

This EP is a significant release for the group since the full album "Born Pink" was a huge success in the market in 2022.
