JAKARTA - The Indonesian music industry is back with a new color with the arrival of Loh Kok Tum Band. This group, which was officially formed at the end of 2023, is not just a musical project, but a collaborative space that emphasizes the value of friendship among its members.

The birth of Loh Kok Tum Band started from the idea of Yuke Sampurna, the bass player of Dewa 19, in November 2023. The idea then developed into a medium of expression for a number of veteran musicians who already have a long track record on the Indonesian music stage.

Loh Kok Tum Band is inhabited by a row of big names from across generations and genres. In addition to Yuke Sampurna, the band is strengthened by Reno Fahreza, Eno NTRL (Netral), Stevie Item (Andra and The Backbone), Marcello Tahitoe (Ello), to Magi (/rif).

The difference in musical backgrounds of each member is actually the main strength. The creative dynamics that are created produce new energy that is authentic and fresh for music listeners in Indonesia.

Reno Fahreza said the formation of this group was inseparable from the personal closeness that had been established for a long time between them. This is what makes the creative process in the band feel very organic.

"This is not just a band, but a place where we gather as friends. From there, the musical ideas feel more honest and flowing," said Reno Fahreza in his statement, Wednesday, April 22.
