JAKARTA - The development of science and technology, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or artificial intelligence, has begun to penetrate the world of music. This is fully realized by singer Ervinna, owner of the album Jangan Parkir di Situ (1994) as well as dozens of solo, duet, and compilation albums pioneered since 1977.
As a singer, the owner of the full name Theodora Monica Ervin said that one must always be creative.
"I have been in this music career for a long time and I have been doing it until now. I see the development in the music world is very rapid, starting from the way people display songs, song genres through social media, to the influence of technology, namely Artificial Intelligence," he said when met on the sidelines of the Halalbihalal New Arnas in Kemang, Saturday, April 18.
Ervinna admitted that AI is indeed sophisticated and the music it produces is good. However, what AI cannot bring up is the human side, namely the feeling of a singer when interacting with the audience.
"This is the side that a singer has to optimize. So, no matter how sophisticated the AI music result is, it still can't beat a real singer, especially when performing on stage. The natural interaction between the singer and the audience is something unique and original," he explained.
In addition, he advised that a singer should never stop learning.
"I just keep learning new songs. If I have to sing a song in a certain foreign language, I study and if necessary call a teacher to know how to pronounce and the meaning of the song I am singing," said the singer who was born in Surabaya, May 4, 1956.
In this way, he continued, he can still survive even though new singers are coming and going. "Indeed, now there are many new singers emerging. But I still have a job, there are always offers coming. From any company or community, the important thing is that it fits and I can perform," he said.
According to Ervinna, he will not stop singing until the end of his life. "I have been a singer and will continue to sing until I can't sing anymore. I am happy to make people happy. So, my motivation is so deep in my career as a singer," he concluded.
