Ndhank Ex-Gitaris Stinky Also Songwriter Mungkinkah Died

JAKARTA - The Indonesian music world is once again shrouded in clouds of grief. Former Stinky guitarist, Endang Surahman Hartono alias Ndhank, is reported to have died on Saturday, April 18.

The departure of the musician who has produced a series of hit works in the 1990s left a deep sadness for his colleagues.

The news about the departure of the musician who was the pillar of Stinky's early success was first spread through a post by the Association of All Indonesian Composers (AKSI).

In a written statement, the association that oversees the songwriters expressed their loss over Ndhank's figure.

"We express our deepest condolences for the passing of Ndhank Surahman Hartono, the creator of Indonesian songs and musicians, ex-guitarist @stinkyband," wrote the official account @aksibersatu on Saturday night.

The association led by Padi Reborn also included prayers for the families left behind to be given fortitude in facing the difficult times after the departure of the guitarist.

"Hopefully, the deceased will be given the best place by the Almighty God, and the families left behind will be given strength and fortitude," the statement continued.

For information, Ndhank joined Stinky since its formation in 1995. He is the brain behind iconic songs that are still often played on various platforms.

One of his masterpieces is "Mungkinkah", a song that brought Stinky to the peak of popularity.

In addition, his musical touch also gave birth to the song "Jangan Tutup Dirimu" which further cemented the band's position in the Indonesian music industry at that time.

Ndhank's journey with Stinky ended in 2013, after he decided to leave due to other busy schedules.

Ndhank's name has resurfaced in the public sphere in recent years.

He was in the spotlight regarding his legal efforts to file a summons regarding the royalty rights to the song "Mungkinkah".

This step was taken to demand transparency and economic justice for songwriters.

Despite having experienced tension with his former bandmates, including Andre Taulany, Ndhank finally apologized through his personal social media for the commotion that had occurred in the public space.
