JAKARTA - The sad news once again enveloped the Indonesian music world. The drummer of the Rocker Kasarunk, Christian Wibisono or affectionately known as Ian, died at the age of 53.
Ian breathed his last at Fatmawati Hospital, Cilandak, South Jakarta on Tuesday, March 17, afternoon.
The late friend, Ricky Tebo, was one of the witnesses - apart from the family - who saw how Ian went to the Creator.
Ricky said Ian died after fighting lung cancer in recent years.
"According to the diagnosis, it is stage three cancer approaching stage four," said Ricky when contacted by the media crew.
"If you count it, it's actually (lung cancer) the last two to three years," he continued.
Even though he suffered from a serious illness, said Ricky, Ian's desire to play music never faded. He still makes time for every Rocker Kasarunk gig.
"Every time he performs, he can only sing one or two songs, because his song Rocker Kasarunk is very hype, I mean, the song is very exciting. Well, he can only sing one or two songs, then use additional," said Ricky.
For information, Rocker Kasarunk was formed in 2010, also consisting of Ferdy Taher (vocals), Acoy (guitar), Ricky (bass), and Gatz (kibor).
After releasing several singles since 2011, Rocker Kasarunk released a full album titled "Pop Rock Wave" in June 2025.
The last release of Ian with Rocker Kasarunk was a single titled "I'm Not Confident" which was released in November 2025.
