Harry Styles Moves Bruno Mars to the Top of the Billboard 200 Album Chart

JAKARTA - Harry Styles has once again proven his status as a major magnet in the global music industry. The former member of One Direction has just made a new history after his fourth studio album, "Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally", officially perched at the top of the Billboard 200.

Styles managed to displace Bruno Mars' dominance with the album "The Romantic" to second place, followed by Morgan Wallen, Bad Bunny, and Don Toliver completing the top five.

With the victory of "Aperture" which also briefly occupied number one on the Billboard Hot 100, Harry Styles now stands tall as one of the strongest pillars of modern pop music in 2026.

The achievement marks the fourth time in a row that Styles has topped the charts since starting his solo career - a rare feat that confirms his dominance in the world pop scene.

Based on the latest data from Luminate, Styles' new album managed to rake in 430,000 units in the United States in the first week since its release. The figure is the biggest debut for a solo male artist since Morgan Wallen's "I'm the Problem" album in May 2021.

Although the figure is still below Taylor Swift's record, through "The Life of a Showgirl" which broke 4 million units, Styles' performance is considered very impressive considering the relatively short promotional period.

"Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally" has been talked about since January 2026 through a mysterious campaign in various major cities in the world, which features a snippet of the lyrics from the lead single "Aperture".

Music critics have responded positively to Styles' musical exploration this time. Jem Aswad, Executive Music Editor from Variety, mentioned that Styles managed to get out of his comfort zone and offer something different to his fans.

"This is an album that reveals itself gradually, and there are many things that fans can understand," Aswad said, citing Variety, Monday, March 16.

"Initially, fans may welcome this album with confusion or hesitant enthusiasm because it may not be what they dreamed of or expected. But do we really want the same birthday gift every year?" he added.

The success of this album was also accompanied by the announcement of the "Together Together" world tour which will carry the concept of residency in seven cities in the world, including 30 show schedules in New York City.
