JAKARTA - Virgoun is again involved in the production of the original soundtrack for an Indonesian film. This time he got a song for the special Lebaran family film, Monday Price Rises.
For this film, Virgoun performed an emotional song titled Saat Kau Telah Mengerti. He also poured his feelings into the lyrics that tell the story in line with his film.
"The film emphasizes what I want to write in this song and my hope is to pass it on to my children through the song," said Virgoun at the gala premiere in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA on March 3.
Virgoun said the lyrics of the song were written based on his perspective on his relationship with his parents. In addition, he also poured his feelings as a parent towards his children.
"That's why I wrote there 'one day you will be a parent like me'. Continuity... this continuity is what I see is not about arrangement but about the value of the self where every week grows and increases," said Virgoun.
Virgoun is grateful that his song was used by director Dinna Jasanti and the production houses Starvision and Legacy Pictures to become the soundtrack for the film "Monday Prices Are Rising".
"My pride here is that I am a musician who can only work with five minutes in the form of a song that I can't present a director even visually in the music video. But thank God, everything I wrote in this song is spilled in this film," said Virgoun.
The main setting in this film is the Lighthouse Bakery owned by the Retno Family, played by veteran actress Meriam Bellina. It is said that Retno has one son and two daughters, Amal (Andri Mashadi), Mutia (Nadya Arina), and Tasya (Nayla Purnama).
In addition to Virgoun, musicians Kunto Aji and Nadin Amizah also contributed a song titled "Selaras". Music arranger Hariopati Rinanto arranged all the arrangements so as not to dominate (overpowering) the acting of the actors.
"Yes, it is definitely challenging because even though this is a family film, the conflict is between mother and child, both of them are also hard. So the music is not too loud but not overpowering (too dominant) from their characters as well," said Hariopati.
