JAKARTA - Chinese multi-talented artist KUN released a self-titled album as his second LP catalog. This work also marks his first project via 88rising.

On this album, the global pop superstar presents a return to the unexpected voices that shaped him through 11 tracks, all of which were written and produced by him.

With decades of exploration and genres that include rock, soul, jazz, pop, and R&B, KUN distills the timeless texture of American roots music with a contemporary clarity that highlights his wide vocal range.

In celebration of the release of this emotionally charged album, KUN shared a cinematic and mysterious music video for the album's lead single, Colder. This guitar-driven song depicts KUN haunted by regret and embracing a darker alt-rock sound.

The visual game also reinforces the message in this single. KUN presents a video that is playful but disturbing. Here KUN plays himself when the spaceship he is traveling on lands on a planet with only a snowman as his friend.

The video was directed by Folkert Verdoorn and Simon Becks (FKA Twigs, A$AP Rocky) with art direction by Eggert Ketilsson (Dunkirk, Interstellar).

"When making this album, I lived inside the songs. I followed them everywhere, from writing to visuals. I followed 'Colder' to the glaciers of Iceland, where the cold pierced my bones but also felt strangely peaceful and healing. "Jasmine" took me to a crowded city, where everything felt noisy and suffocating, but somehow still felt liberating," KUN said in a written statement, February 6.

"When I first performed 'What a Day' before it was released, I felt immersed in the energy and imperfection that comes with performing live. So when I went into the studio to record it, I used the old recording method to capture the same feeling. It's those moments of imperfection that make us human. "

In Asia, KUN continues to make waves, strengthening its influence in the region. He was recently awarded the title of All-Round Artist of the Year at JOOX Top Music Night Bangkok and became the headliner at the inaugural Bubbling & Boiling Festiva festival in Singapore. Most recently, he appeared as a guest performer in a special appearance on Indonesian Idol, which aired on national television and reached millions of viewers across the country.
