Bernadya and the Interesting Steps Towards the Second Album

JAKARTA - Bernadya Ribka has achieved great success with one EP and one full album released. Fantastic stream numbers and a series of awards are proof of the success of this singer from Surabaya.

The sweet career journey also gave Bernadya new energy as she prepared for her second album. She wants to grow as a singer and songwriter through a number of explorations that will be presented in her new work.

Not long ago, he presented the opening single for the album, which he titled Kita Buat Menyenangkan. A different nuance is immediately felt when listening to this song through the feelings he tries to build. At the same time, he gave a touch that is also familiar.

Together with JUNI Records, Bernadya deliberately chose the song as a single with mature consideration. This song seems to be a transition to something more colorful than the next tracks.

"From the beginning we agreed that this would be a single because there is a common thread from the last track on the previous album, Untungnya, Hidup Harus Tetap Berjalan. Many people who hear it say that the song is nostalgic," said Bernadya in a casual chat with the media in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta on February 5.

In general, Bernadya wants to present a nostalgic vibe and a happy feeling that is a little restrained. He realized it through more straightforward lyrics, as well as a 2000s-style musical arrangement that is not too complex.

"We never want to label all the music as 2000s music. But as nostalgic music, people feel it brings them to a time where they may have lived there," he continued.

Bernadya's second album will also involve a number of music producers. Two of them are Petra Sihombing and Rendy Pandugo who were involved in the previous album.

"If it's the same as Petra, I've been comfortable with the way we work from the last album. I also work with other producers who have their own references about music in the 2000s, so I surrender to them," continued Bernadya.

What is certain, the next album will have a more diverse color than the first album which is dominated by black. There are new tones that will be presented by Bernadya as part of the process of growing and sharpening her creativity in music.
