Blue Hits Highest Position on UK Charts Since Debut

JAKARTA - The British boy band, Blue, has surprisingly managed to carve a new history through their seventh studio album which was released on January 9, "Reflections".

Based on the latest data from Official Charts as of January 2026, Blue successfully took second place in the list of best-selling albums in the UK, which is their highest achievement on the charts in more than two decades.

Despite leading the midweek report, the quartet led by Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan, and Simon Webbe had to settle for being just below Olivia Dean who is still firmly at the top of the standings.

Olivia Dean's dominance is indeed unshakable, where the album "The Art of Loving" released last September managed to maintain the number one position for three consecutive weeks.

However, Blue's achievement with the album "Reflections" remains the main highlight this week as the highest newcomer.

Not only successful in general, Blue also managed to dominate the Official Record Store Chart and Official Independent Chart, and was recorded as the album with the most physical sales and digital downloads over the past week.

This success was greeted with tears by the Blue personnel who did not expect to still be able to compete at the top after two decades of career. In their official statement, they revealed that this achievement was the fruit of the loyalty of the fans.

"We never imagined we would have this high a chart position after 23 years, so we are very grateful. We are brothers who have gone through many ups and downs together, and this is a peak moment that we will remember for a long time," said Blue member, quoting an Instagram statement, Monday, January 19.

"If it wasn't for the fans, we wouldn't be here in the first place and seeing them come for us, that speaks louder than the numbers," he continued. "This is for them. We owe everything to you. It means a lot to us and we love you so much. This is the start of more, we're not stopping now."

The map of the music competition in the UK this week was also enlivened by the US country music giant, Zach Bryan, who set a new personal record with the album "With Heaven On Top" in third place.

Meanwhile, The Cribs achieved their first Top 5 album of their career through "Selling A Vibe" which also topped the Official Albums Vinyl Chart.

Other names that also fill the Top 40 include Dry Cleaning with "Secret Love" in 12th place, Alter Bridge in 20th place, and The Kid Laroi securing 22nd place with "BEFORE I FORGET".
