JAKARTA - American RnB singer Brian McKnight is preparing to hold a concert titled "An Intimate Evening with Brian McKnight". At the concert, which is scheduled to be held at the Balai Sarbini, Jakarta, Friday, January 16, he said he would be ready to accept song requests.

"I might open a song request session. There are songs that the audience likes but I rarely play. As a writer and player of all instruments on the record, I should know all those songs," said Brian McKnight at a press conference at the St. Regis Hotel, Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA January 13.

Brian said the concept was a new experience for him. He plans to open a song request column through social media and display some audience choices on the screen during the concert.

The 56-year-old singer also explained the reason for choosing Jakarta as the location for the concert. Based on listener data on the music streaming platform, Indonesia is the country with the most Brian McKnight listeners in the world.

"Indonesia is the number one country for my music listening in the world, even higher than the United States. That was a big surprise for me," he continued.

Brian made this concert a moment to meet directly with fans who played a major role in his career journey. He called Indonesia his second home because of the warmth of the audience's response every time he came.

Regarding the concert tour, Brian said there was no significant challenge after more than three decades of performing in various countries. He emphasized the importance of preparation and maintaining the quality of performance on every stage.

"I want the audience to go home with the feeling that they don't want the concert to end and look forward to me coming back again," he said.

Brian McKnight also praised the Indonesian audience, who he considered to be musical and have a strong love for music. He called love songs a universal language that can transcend language and cultural differences.
