LMKN Announces 2025 Royalty Collection Reaches Rp200 M, 12.5 Percent Has Not Been Verified

JAKARTA - The National Collective Management Institution (LMKN) reported the collection of royalties for musical works throughout 2025 yesterday. In total, they have collected Rp200 billion, consisting of Rp175 billion in verified royalties and Rp25 billion that have not been verified.

"This National Collective Management Institution recorded a total collection of royalties throughout 2025 of Rp. 175,002,198,130, plus Rp. 25,000,000,000. So, in fact, the total is approximately Rp. 200,000,000,000 throughout 2025," said the Chairman of the LMKN Creators, Andi Mulhanan, at a press conference in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, January 13.

The collection of royalties is based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright, and Government Regulation Number 56 of 2021, as well as Minister of Law Regulation Number 27 of 2025.

Mulhanan said that throughout the period from January to December 2025, analog royalties or copyright for songs and music for commercial use in non-digital public services (analog) such as restaurants, cafes, hotels, cinemas, to concerts, which were successfully collected reached Rp. 77.8 billion. This amount consists of analog royalties, general royalties, analog life event for creators and owners of related rights in and outside the country.

Meanwhile, in terms of distribution, LMKN has distributed royalties to as many as 16,332 rights holders through the Collective Management Agency with a total value of IDR 151,830,755,644 throughout 2025.

"The distribution includes analog general royalties of IDR 11,188,187,602 and analog life event royalties of IDR 1,998,206,817 for the period from January to June 2025, as well as digital royalties of IDR 110,698,961,604, and overseas royalties of IDR 27,945,399,621 for the period from January to September 2025," he explained.

In the period of January - April 2025, the distribution of overseas royalties was carried out by LMK Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI), while the distribution of royalties for the period of May to September 2025 was carried out directly by LMKN through the data verification process.

In the management of funds, LMKN applies the provisions on operational expenditures with a maximum limit of 8 percent, as stipulated in Minister of Law Regulation Number 27 of 2025.

The operational funds are used to support the organization's services, the development of information technology systems, improving the quality of collection, verification, and distribution of royalties, and strengthening human resources at the center and region.
