Through an open letter uploaded to the official X account, the management stated that it would not hesitate to drag the makers and distributors of AI-based pornography content to the legal track in order to protect the honor of the idols.
"We have received reports of the misuse of artificial intelligence (Al) technology that has affected some of our members," read a letter from the JKT48 Operations Team, quoted Tuesday, January 6.
"The content has the potential to meet the elements of defamation and/or insult as regulated in applicable laws and regulations," he continued.
JKT48 has confirmed that the misuse of this technology has caused real losses, both materially and psychologically, for the members affected.
After intensive communication with the members, management decided to give a deadline of 2 x 24 hours for anyone who has created or disseminated the content to immediately delete it permanently from the digital space.
"If within 2 x 24 hours after this announcement is published we still find the content spread, then in order to protect members, we fully support the decision of the affected members to take legal action," said the management.
"JKT48 Operation Team will facilitate assistance from the Legal Advisor to accompany and oversee this legal process until it is completed," he said.
Through its official statement, management also invited all levels of society and fans to work together to maintain a positive environment and respect each other. Support from fans is considered crucial in maintaining the JKT48 ecosystem to remain conducive to acts of harassment in the digital space.
