Charity Concerts Are Not Enough, Andien Plans To Go Directly To The Sumatra Flood Location

JAKARTA - Andien showed deep concern for victims of flash floods and landslides in Sumatra, not only appearing in charity concerts, but also ready to go directly to the location.

In a charity concert titled "100 Musicians for Sumatra" which was held at T-Space Bintaro, South Tangerang last weekend, Andien became one of the performers who immediately expressed his willingness when contacted by concert initiators, Tompi, together with Kadri Mohamad and Irma Hutabarat.

"I think I was one of the first people to say 'yes', that I was willing, and not only willing but also came to the event today," Andien told the media crew during his appearance.

However, Andien felt that the music stage was not enough. He revealed his plan to go directly to the disaster site as a representative of the fundraising movement that he initiated with the Indonesian Voice Vibration (Visi).

The plan is that the singer, who has just celebrated her 25 years of work, will depart on Wednesday, December 10, to see and provide direct assistance, especially those related to donations aimed at children as vulnerable groups affected.

Andien's concern, he emphasized, did not come from the connection of the affected family, he did not have a family in Aceh, North Sumatra or West Sumatra, apart from a pure sense of humanity.

"Poin as a human being," he said. Because as a human being we must knock on the door of his heart when there are friends and other brothers who have experienced a disaster like this. And the disaster is also not playing games, this is huge.

Andien also expressed high hopes to the Government. He urged that the handling of this disaster be taken very seriously, not only focusing on the distribution of short-term assistance, but also thinking about long-term solutions and regulations that will prevent similar damage in the future.

"I really, really hope that this can be taken seriously from the government. And for our affected brothers and sisters, what can we deal with for our friends there, of course, short-term assistance first," he concluded.
