Elisha Danielle: From Singapore, Find Her Music House In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Born in Singapore, joined Taiwan's Sony Music, then debuted as a soloist in Indonesia. The story is owned by Elisha Danielle, who collaborated with Petra Sihombing for her debut single, "Prety Easy", which was released last September.

Indonesia was chosen as the place of its debut after discussing with the label. In addition to having Indonesian roots from one of his parents, Elisha felt that Indonesia was prominent thanks to its live music scheme, full of support, and a large and warm listener.

"We feel that Indonesia is the ideal place to start. With the support of a team from Taiwan, we finally decided to release this debut single with Sony Music Indonesia," said Elisha through a press release received by VOI, Sunday, November 9.

The color of music offered by Elisha Danielle through 'Prety Easy' is unique to the Indonesian music market, which is not widely found in other Indonesian female soloists.

As a singer-songwriter, Elisha brings a narrative of equilibrium in the lyrics and melodies of songs, wrapped in musical arrangements that make the body sway with the 1980s of music.

"The essence of this song is about someone whose mental condition is not really present in a relationship, be it romance or friendship," he said. "On the one hand, this person is still hoping and waiting for something, but on the other hand, he is also ready to leave at any time."

Collaboration with Petra Sihombing as a joint songwriter and producer is important. Elisha also admitted that she was satisfied with this collaboration.

When he decided to release my debut song in Indonesia, the Sony Music Indonesia team proposed Petra to be my collaboration partner, and that was the right choice. Petra seemed to be able to read my voice because she understood the essence of what I wanted to reveal, so I felt the honesty of what I wanted to convey in this song and hear my own identity," he said.

What is offered in 'Prety Easy' cannot be separated from the two things that inspired Elisha, namely ABBA and Bali. He said ABBA had an influence through the theatrical elements and the colorful world built through their music. Meanwhile, Bali has helped in creating its first single.

The beautiful Petra Studio in Ubud is not only a place to work, but also part of the creative process itself. This studio forms my song's mood and energy and helps the process of writing as a whole," he said.

Elisha hopes that the energy of 'Prety Easy' can be felt by all who listen, especially Indonesian listeners, because the nuances are light, fun, and can be heard without a burden.

In the near future, Elisha Danielle will also introduce her new single called 'Freeze'.
