Ariana Grande Admits She Was Not Happy With Her Music Career

JAKARTA - Ariana Grande spoke outspoken about her unhappy feelings about her music career before she accepted Wicked's role several years ago.

The 32-year-old singer admitted that her role as Glinda in Wicked's film has been a significant healing process for her as an artist.

Before accepting the role, Grande even thought he would never go on tour again after Sweetener's tiring 2019 trip.

"There is something cracked in my relationship with pop music that has recently been cured through rest time," Grande said in a recent interview with the New York Times.

He added that the view that his dream come true has become dangerous. The reason is, there are various things that actually take their pleasure in art.

"I think it's getting away from me in a way I didn't expect," he added. There's one thing that comes along with your dream come true, which feels dangerous at some time... Nobody is preparing you for what's accompanying it. Until recently, it was very difficult for me to navigate it, and I think it took a lot of joy for me.

Furthermore, Grande seemed to hint that the people she worked with in the past had prevented her from balancing between her two passions, namely music and acting.

"By the way, I have a different team now," he said. "It says with love, but it's a piece."

This vocal comment comes more than two years after Grande officially separated from SB Projects, where he has been managed by Scooter Braun Secretly since 2013. His departure has been in the spotlight because it coincided with the announcement of other major artists who also broke away, including Demi Lovato and J Balvin.

Shortly after leaving SB Projects, Grande moved closer to Brandon Creed's company, Good World Management.

Two years after the management change, it seems Grande has managed to achieve the desired focus thanks to the support of his new team.

"I've never felt this connected with my art or inspired, and it's a great gift," Grande said.

"It's like, oh, I actually don't need to take things that are projected on me. I can focus on my art, and it can be a separate entity. But I have to give myself permission to think about it.

Despite his doubts in the past, the Grammy winner is now preparing to return to the music stage in 2026 for a concert tour to support his album, Eternal Sunshine.
