EXO-CBX Loses All Lawsuits From SM Entertainment

JAKARTA - EXO-CBX, a subunit of EXO consisting of Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin was declared defeated in their previous agency, SM Entertainment.

Launching JoongAng, EXO-CBX lost in several lawsuits including demands to provide data and unfair contracts. The court rejected the lawsuit because there was no basis for the claims made by the prosecution.

Previously, EXO-CBX asked SM Entertainment to provide data transparency for 13 years of EXO activities in the Seoul court. The court requested that the data be submitted after a new exclusive contract.

"The submission given is speculation without specifying the numbers," the court said.

The request to examine and copy accounting books was also rejected by the court on the grounds "The request for the case is a way to achieve the purpose of the document submission order or to psychologically suppress SM Entertainment by maintaining this case."

EXO-CBX had filed an appeal twice, but the court rejected the request which directly stated that SM Entertainment had won this case.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Culture and the Korean Practical Trade Commission also found no violations in the exclusive contract between SM Entertainment and EXO-CBX considering that SM provided closed data to the three members.

Until now, EXO-CBX has not released an official statement regarding the court's decision.

The day before, EXO announced a fan meeting titled EXO'verse which will be attended by six members, namely Sehun, Chanyeol, DO (Doh Kyungsoo), Kai, Xiumin, and Lay without mentioning the involvement of Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.

At the same time, EXO also announced plans for the release of the 8th studio album scheduled for next year.
