YOGYAKARTA A series of events celebrating Cultural Day 2025 from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia officially closed with Collaborative Music Events at the West Plaza Museum Fort Vredeburg, Yogyakarta, Saturday 18 October. This event was held through the Directorate General of Cultural and Traditional Protection with the theme Bhinneka Tunggal Ika: Various Cultures, Bersatu Jiwa for Indonesia.
The stage featured cross-genre collaboration between Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra (YRO) and young musicians such as Brian Prasetyoadi, Fanny Soegi, Isyana Sarasvati, and Letto. The orchestra music mixes with modern gamelan and pop in harmony that describes the wealth of Indonesian cultural expressions.
Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha Djumaryo emphasized that culture is not just a legacy of the past, but an expression of a growing soul.
"Government is the breath of life. The Ministry of Culture is committed to strengthening the cultural ecosystem, opening up new expression spaces, and ensuring the regeneration of artistic talent," he said.
Director General of Cultural Protection and Culture of Restu Gunawan added that cultural preservation must now be integrated with the digital space.
"We already have a Cultural Day set by the Minister of Culture. Let's visit cultural sites and spread that spirit through social media," he said.

The performance was opened with the collaboration of YRO and Brian Prasetyoadi, followed by the performances of Fanny Soegi and Isyana Sarasvati, then closed with the song Indonesia Pusaka as a tribute to the Indonesian music legend. YRO also features the contemporary combinasan Ensemble of ethnic nuances, while Letto closes the event in collaboration with gamelan symbols of cultural dialogue between tradition and modernity.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister Giring Ganesha, Inspector General of the Ministry of Culture Fryda Lucyana, Director General of Restu Gunawan, Women's Dharma Board of the Association of Katharine Grace Fadli Zon and Cynthia Giring Ganesha, as well as officials from the Ministry of Culture, artists, maestros, and cultural communities from all over Indonesia.
