Ahead Of The 2025 Memomemoria, Sal Priadi Launches A Musik Nyala Video

JAKARTA - In order to welcome the 2025 Memomemoria event, Sal Priadi launched the latest music video for the opening track for the debut album Hati (2020), 'Nyala', which director Edwin worked on.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Memomemoria is a multidisciplinary festival initiated by Sal as a continuation of a similar event that was first held in 2023. This has also marked five years since the album Hati was released.

Edwin was chosen to work on this music video, not without reason. He is the director who catapulted Sal's name in the acting world through the film Demandual Rindu Must Be Paid Completely (2021).

In working on the music video 'Nyala', Edwin chose a deep process to absorb the energy contained in the song.

"Before writing the synopsis for the story of this music video, I listened to 'Nyala' in several different situations. Some were in the morning, some were in the middle of the street, and indeed the energy that often appeared was what I consciously or unconsciously contained," said Edwin in his statement, Thursday, October 16.

This process of contemplation and writing took approximately two months. "I want to respond to the music offered by 'On' in no hurry," he continued.

This music video presents a fresh interpretation, bringing the story into childhood space and time a universal experience for each listener.

"The point is the atmosphere that is present in the middle of chaos. And chaos is born from a forgotten childhood energy," said Edwin.

"Maybe in the end, after writing I can get a pretty round form about the childhood feelings we often forget," he added. , In addition to highlighting a spontaneous childhood point of view, Edwin also specifically interpreted the word "jerambury" which has a strong role in the line of lyrics written by Sal Priadi for "Nala". The word triggers another element that is one of the fuels in knitting this music video story.

One of the easiest words to trigger an image to appear in this video is the word cemburu, I don't know if he has strong feelings, but how Sal also places the word in his constellation of lyrics and music. It makes you stick," he said.

Edwin explained, buru itself is not just a matter of romance or romance, but also of everything that is unfair.
