Elton John Sets A Record For Spectators After Deciding To Stop From The World Tour

JAKARTA - Elton John again amazed tens of thousands of fans at a show at the Singapore Grand Prix Formula One (F1) last weekend.

This concert is special because for the first time since deciding to quit the world tour two years ago. The 78-year-old singer has appeared in front of 70,000 people who have become his highest audience record in the last two years.

The pop star's stage action nicknamed 'Rerocketman' took place after the F1 race was over. For the full 90 minutes, he performed a series of the most popular hit songs from his brilliant career.

Through uploads on Instagram after the show was over, John expressed his joy.

"Singapore, you are amazing! It's a great feeling to be together with more than 70,000 of you. Thank you for being such an amazing audience," John wrote, citing an upload caption, Wednesday, October 8.

That night, Elton John pampered the audience's ears by performing a list of songs containing flagship hits, including Saturday Nights' for Fighting, Bennie And The Jets, I Guess Thats Why They Call It The Blues, Tiny Dancer, Rcket Man, Candle In The Wind, Im Still Standing, and Your Song.

Previously, John had confirmed that he might still be performing deeply after he retired from a busy tour schedule.

So far, the promise has been proven with several stage actions, including in the 50th annual CANdlelight Concert in the United States in December last year and at the inauguration of the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center in the previous summer.

In 2023, John also appeared live at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame event, in which he confirmed his songwriter partner, Bernie Taupin.

Sir Elton's last major stage in Great Britain took place in June 2023. At that time, he successfully gave a historic appearance that summarized his entire career at the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival.

For information, last April, Elton John released the latest collaboration album with Brandi Carlile entitled 'Who Believes In Angels?'. This album contains the song Never Too Late which was nominated by Oscar and was specially created for the Disney+ documentary with the same title.
