Seeing Centil Indonesia's Songs: From Disco To Hipdut

JAKARTA - Synchronize Fest 2025 presents a special Centil Era' to describe the journey of songs with the singing of soloists and women's groups that have enlivened the Indonesian music industry.

This set started in 2000, when Shanty appeared with two mainstay singles, "Oh Kasih" and "Just Praise", which earned him the nickname "discommer."

Shanty was clearly honored when she was involved in this project. He felt appreciated, although many other songs carried a similar style afterwards.

"Oh my goodness, the crazy hits have been around for 25 years but are still being heard," said Shanty during a press conference before appearing at Gambir Expo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday, October 5.

The winner of the three AMI trophies also welcomed the presence of other singers, such as Pinkan Mambo, Astrid, T2, She, Shinta & Jojo, Citra Scholastika, and Naykilla.

"I've heard these names and I haven't seen them for a long time, haven't heard your live for a long time, and I've been willing to bear it at the festival for a long time. I want to feel the energy," said Shanty.

From the Diaco era, now the centil-style song has changed through the presence of hipdut music genres that combine hip-hop and dangdut elements with Naykilla as icons.

Citra Scholastika yang beraksi centil lewat musik pop-jazz' melihat kehadiran Naykilla dan hipdut jadi warna tersendiri di blantika musik Tanah Air.

"Justru karena ada Naykilla, kita merasa semangat centil itu kembali ada... Itu akan sangat memperkenalkan musik Indonesia," ujar Citra.

"Frankly, when I first heard Naykilla's song, it was very interesting. How come I thought about it? I'm really happy to see you who have colored Indonesian music," said Astrid.

During the 25 years of the 'Era Centil' trip on the national music scene, various colors were presented, ranging from disco, pop, jazz, r&b, dangdut, to hipdut.
